The e-NG Coalition is pleased to welcome DWE GmbH as a new Member, further strengthening the Coalition’s growing network of companies working across the e-NG value chain.
Based in Deggendorf, Germany, DWE combines decades of experience in reactor engineering and large-scale industrial manufacturing with proprietary technologies for Power-to-X applications. Its activities span engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and project delivery, enabling the company to support complex industrial projects from initial concept through to implementation.
In the field of renewable methane, DWE provides a proprietary process license for the CO₂-based methanation of hydrogen, as well as complete synthesis units delivered as prefabricated and factory-tested modules. This modular approach shifts a significant part of project execution from the construction site to a controlled manufacturing environment, helping reduce interface risks, shorten project timelines and support consistent execution quality.
The resulting e-NG is chemically identical to conventional natural gas and can therefore be injected into existing gas grids, stored using established infrastructure or liquefied into e-LNG for applications such as shipping and heavy-duty transport. DWE’s renewable methane technology has already been demonstrated at commercial scale: the company delivered the methanation unit for the Werlte power-to-gas plant in Germany in2012.
“Joining the e-NG Coalition gives DWE the opportunity to work alongside companies across the entire value chain to accelerate the industrial deployment of renewable methane. We bring decades of reactor and process-engineering experience, proven CO₂-methanation technology and a clear focus on scalable, modular solutions. Together, we want to help move e-NG projects from planning to reliable commercial operation and strengthen its role in a resilient and climate-neutral energy system.” Martin Fraunhoffer, Managing Director, DWE GmbH.
Moving e-NG projects from demonstration to commercial deployment requires more than a strong production pathway. It also depends on industrially proven technology, reliable project execution and manufacturing capacity that can support larger facilities while managing costs, timelines and technical risks.
DWE’s expertise will bring valuable insight to the Coalition’s work on the practical conditions needed to scale e-NG. Its experience in methanation, reactor design, thermal management and modular manufacturing complements the perspectives of producers, infrastructure operators, energy companies and other technology providers already represented within the Coalition.
“We are delighted to welcome DWE GmbH to the e-NG Coalition. Turning the rapidly growing global pipeline of e-NG projects into operating facilities requires proven technology and strong industrial delivery capabilities. DWE’s experience in methanation and large-scale manufacturing will add real value to our work and strengthen collaboration across the entire e-NG value chain.” Rafik Ammar, Policy Director, e-NG Coalition.
With proprietary process technologies and more than 800 reactors delivered across its wider portfolio, DWE contributes practical experience in scaling synthesis processes from pilot applications to large industrial projects. Its membership reinforces the Coalition’s expanding technology and manufacturing expertise at a time when the e-NG sector is increasingly focused on turning project ambition into production capacity.
The e-NG Coalition looks forward to working closely with DWE to advance the industrialization of e-NG, strengthen regulatory and market frameworks, and accelerate the deployment of e-NG worldwide.
