Reinforcing the Coalition's commitment on advancing e-NG through international collaboration, market development, and industry leadership.

The e-NG Coalition is pleased to announce the appointment of Yoann Matot, e-NG Project Director at TotalEnergies and President of TotalEnergies Hydrogen Holdings USA, as Chair of the Coalition, alongside Koji Hirayama, General Manager of  Bio & e-Natural Gas Business Department at Mitsubishi Corporation, who has been appointed Vice-Chair.

Together, they bring decades of international experience across the gas, LNG, hydrogen, and e-NG sectors. Their appointments come at an important moment for the industry, as e-NG projects continue to advance globally and the need for coordinated market development, robust certification systems, and enabling policy frameworks becomes increasingly important.

Under their leadership, the Coalition will continue working with industry, policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders to accelerate the deployment of e-NG, promote harmonized greenhouse gas accounting and certification frameworks, and support the development of a competitive global e-NG market.

Yoann Matot appointed Chair

Yoann Matot brings more than 15 years of international experience s panning gas infrastructure, LNG commercialization, renewable hydrogen, and e-NG project development. His career has provided him with a unique perspective across the entire gas value chain. After beginning in gas transmission and shipping operations, he moved into corporate strategy, contributing to long-term gas market planning and assessing the role of natural gas in the evolving energy landscape. He subsequently held senior commercial positions in Europe and Australia, managing international LNG portfolios, negotiating long-term supply agreements, and leading commercial activities across global markets.

Since joining TotalEnergies' renewable gases business, Yoann has been at the forefront of developing industrial-scale renewable hydrogen ande-NG projects. Today, he leads the company's e-NG portfolio, including the development of the Live Oak project in the United States, one of the world's largest integrated e-NG initiatives. His work focuses on bringing commercially viable e-NG projects to market by leveraging existing gas and LNG infrastructure while supporting the development of new international value chains for renewable molecules.

As Chair, Yoann will guide the Coalition's strategic direction as the sector moves from early deployment toward large-scale commercialization.

"Around the world, projects are advancing, investment is accelerating, and the industry is demonstrating that e-NG can become a scalable solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors while making use of existing gas infrastructure. The e-NG Coalition has an essential role to play in bringing together industry, policymakers, and stakeholders to help build the regulatory and market conditions needed for this transition. I am honored to serve as Chair and look forward to working with our members to continue driving the sector forward."Yoann Matot, Chair of the e-NG Coalition

Koji Hirayama appointed Vice-Chair

Koji Hirayama brings extensive international experience in LNG marketing, business development, and e-NG commercialization, with a strong track record across Asian and global energy markets. As General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation's Bio & e-Natural Gas Business Department, he is leading the company's efforts to expand bio-methane and e-methane businesses as part of its broader decarbonization strategy. Prior to assuming this role, Koji served as General Manager of Origination at Diamond Gas International Pte. Ltd. (which has since been renamed Diamond Global Energy Pte. Ltd.) in Singapore, where he led commercial origination activities across international LNG markets. His career also includes senior commercial positions at Mitsubishi Corporation and Petronas LNG Sdn. Bhd., giving him deep expertise in LNG trading, global gas markets, and long-term business development.

As Vice-Chair, Koji will support the Coalition's efforts to strengthen international collaboration across the e-NG value chain and deepen engagement with stakeholders throughout Asia and other strategic markets, helping to accelerate the global scale-up of e-NG.

"E-NG has the potential to connect regions with abundant resources to sectors seeking practical decarbonization solutions. Achieving that vision will require strong international cooperation, certification systems, and well-functioning markets .As Vice-Chair of the e-NG Coalition, I am pleased to support our members in advancing these shared priorities and accelerating the global deployment of e-NG." –Koji Hirayama, Vice-Chair of the e-NG Coalition

Global leadership for a global market

Together, Yoann and Koji represent two of the world's leading energy companies and bring complementary expertise spanning gas infrastructure, LNG commercialization, project development, and international market creation. Their combined experience reflects the increasingly global nature of the e-NG sector and reinforces the Coalition's commitment to fostering collaboration across the entire e-NG value chain.

The e-NG Coalition also extends its sincere appreciation to Kristiana Gjinaj, one of the Coalition’s Co-Founders and Chief of Staff to the CEO at TES-H2, for her dedicated service as Interim Chair since January2026. During this period of transition, Kristiana provided steady and inclusive leadership, helping guide the Coalition through an important stage of its development. Her positive approach, openness to new ideas, and commitment to collaboration have fostered a strong sense of engagement across the membership and helped advance the Coalition's shared objectives.  The Coalition is grateful for her commitment and leadership and looks forward to her continued contributions as an active member of the Board.

As e-NG gains momentum worldwide, the e-NG Coalition will continue working with its growing international membership to advance policies and market frameworks that enable investment, facilitate cross-border trade, recognize existing certification systems, and unlock the full potential of e-NG to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors.

We look forward to working with the new leadership and members to help build a resilient, competitive, and transparent global market for e-NG, accelerating its deployment as a key solution for the energy transition.
